Who is Tourism Homegirl?
Hi! I'm Debby, your go to gal for tourism education. I am an avid tourism communicator, having worked in this area of the industry for most of my career. I have developed some insightful workshops, master classes and digital downloads, including e-books, to help you learn some of the basics of communications within the industry. I'm also passionate about educating children and young people about this incredibly industry and my new TikTok series World Whizz Kids aims to not only teach young people about the world, but also to inspire them to become interested in the industry of tourism!
Why Tourism Homegirl?
I wanted to develop a platform where I can share my expertise and provide services to the industry and areas I know best, in a style that fits me - a friend you can depend on - so Tourism Homegirl was born. I have spent most of my life in the industry, particularly in communications and education, working for DMO's, tour operators, small businesses and the HE/FE sector. In the last few years, I have worked with the industry on utilising AI in tourism, including providing training to colleges in implementing responsible AI practice, as well as delivering conference talks on how the industry can adapt to this technology and navigate its challenges.
